JESCO delivered the materials management for the largest project in the history of the Middle East.
John E. Shavers, a highly decorated U.S. military veteran, began his transition from active duty to the National Guard just as Hurricane Camille made landfall in Biloxi, Mississippi in 1969. The devastation left in Camille’s wake marked a turning point in John’s life. His National Guard unit was mobilized to respond, and it was there — in the rubble and urgency of rebuilding — that John found both purpose and opportunity.
By 1971, he leveraged his growing network and operational discipline to secure what would become the largest marine construction contract in Gulf Coast history, operating under the name John E. Shavers Construction and Engineers, Inc.
In 1979, the company began doing business as JESCO Construction, reflecting John’s vision for a dynamic, future-forward enterprise. In 1991, the company was formally incorporated under the name JESCO Construction, with “JES” honoring its founder — John E. Shavers.
Today, JESCO stands as one of the largest CERTIFIED Department of Defense contractors in the United States, delivering specialized, on-demand solutions for U.S. military installations around the world.
With active design-build and construction operations on every continent except Antarctica, JESCO’s capabilities span:
